Pilates mat is a workout based on the Pilates method, in which the practitioner performs exercises on a mat, mainly on the floor using primarily their own body or with small equipment (props).

It is considered the cornerstone of the method, as the practitioner gains absolute control of their body, awareness of their movements, and more effective breathing.

Mat exercises work the entire body but focus more on the proper activation of the “core.”
